Upgrading and Downgrading

In this section, we’ll overview what happens when you upgrade or downgrade your plan.

Upgrading Your Plan

When you upgrade your plan, you will be charged immediately for the first month of your subscription and immediately gain access to any features and benefits, including an increased Spell run limit.

After 1 month (or 1 year, for annual plans) from your subscription’s start date, you will be charged again and your Spell run limit will be reset. This will continue every month/year until your subscription is updated or canceled.

You can view the renewal date of your subscription on the Billing & Usage page in your workspace settings.

Downgrading Your Plan

When you downgrade your plan, you will not immediately lose your current plan’s features and benefits (including the Spell run limit). Your workspace will be marked as “pending downgrade” until your next scheduled renewal date, when the subscription will be canceled and your workspace will be officially downgraded. You will not be charged on the scheduled renewal date.

While your plan is pending a downgrade, you will stay on your current plan. This means you will have access to your current plan’s features and the higher Spell run limit until the scheduled renewal date (when your plan is officially downgraded).

Example

1. You sign up with a new account on 3/15
   • A workspace is created on the Free plan.
2. You upgrade to the monthly Starter plan on 3/19
   • Your workspace is immediately upgraded to the Starter plan and your payment method is charged $19.99. Your subscription renewal date is on 4/19, when you are scheduled to be charged again. Every month on the 19th, you will be charged again.
3. You upgrade to the monthly Team plan on 3/25
   • Your workspace is immediately upgraded to the Team plan and your payment method is charged $59.99. Your new subscription renewal date is on 4/25, when you are scheduled to be charged again. Every month on the 25th, you will be charged again.
4. You downgrade to the Starter plan on 4/13.
   • Your workspace is marked as “pending downgrade” and scheduled to be downgraded on your subscription renewal date: 4/25. You retain your current plan, including Team plan features and Spell run limit until your workspace is downgraded.
5. You upgrade (back) to the Team plan on 4/18.
   • Your pending downgrade (from Team plan to Starter plan) is canceled, and no other changes are made. Your workspace remains on the Team plan, as it was before.
6. On 4/25, your subscription is renewed and your payment method is charged $59.99.
7. You downgrade to the Free plan on 4/26.
   • Your workspace is marked as “pending downgrade” and scheduled to be downgraded on your subscription renewal date: 5/25.
8. On 5/25, your workspace is downgraded to the Free plan.
   • Your payment method is not charged at this point, and your workspace is now on the Free plan with the accompanying features and Spell run limit.
